Jose R. Guerra
Senior Tactical Advisor
Mr. Guerra brings over 26 years of experience in Law Enforcement and tactical training to SFTA. A retired New York Police Department Police Officer, his assignments included: Police Service Area 6, Housing Authority Emergency Rescue Service & NYPD Emergency Service Unit Squad 3 (Special Operations Division.) As a Member of the NYPD and its elite Emergency Service Unit, Mr. Guerra has earned over 35 service awards and medals. Awards include the New York Shields Purple Heart for injuries received in street combat and The New York City Police Department’s highest award, TheMedal of Honor on December 4th, 2001.

Dignitary Protection
As a member of the New York City Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit, Mr. Guerra conducted Dignitary Protection for all visiting Heads of State including the President of the United States as a Counter Assault Team member.

• Active Shooter Rescue while under gunfire of two wounded Officers pinned down in the town of Eastchester, New York
• Active Shooter Rescue of Tactical entry team in rifle assault and ambush, as a result was shot in the line of duty protecting entry team.

• Hurricane ‘George’ relief mission to Santo Domingo D.R. 1998 with F.E.M.A and the NYC Office of Emergency Management Dignitary Protection
• First relief flight to The Afghanistan Combat Theater of Operation “Operation Enduring Freedom” Bagram and Kabul. 2001
